Allstate & the AFCA Good Works Team®

Twenty two college football players have been named to the 2009 Allstate/AFCA Good Works Team®. The players who have been awarded this prestigious honor were selected by a special committee from 106 nominations submitted by colleges and universities across the country. Two 11-member teams - one composed of players competing in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (I-A) and a combined team representing the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (I-AA), Divisions II, III and the NAIA - recognize players that embody the true spirit of "teamwork" and "giving back" through selfless contributions and commendable acts of kindness.

In addition to our sponsorships of the Allstate/AFCA Good Works Team®, did you happen to notice the Good Hands® Nets behind field goals? We raise them at 67 college stadiums around the country. And each field goal and extra point kicked into those Nets have helped raise over $1.8 million in donations for collegiate general scholarship funds. We also sponsor the Southeastern Conference and their 20 sports, including football. During the post-season, we sponsor 21 college bowl games and the Bowl Championship Series, along with the 76th Allstate® Sugar Bowl in New Orleans on January 1, 2010 on FOX. And don't forget about the Allstate® Tailgate Tour that visits 28 games this year. Last but not least, Allstate has proudly protected college football fans for the past 78 years.
