Will Tickets Have an Impact on my Premiums?
Your driving record says a lot about you — it’s your résumé for the road. It’s also one of the first things that any insurance company will evaluate when considering you as a customer.

At Allstate, in many states, we’ll look at the last 36 months of your road résumé. (If we’re investigating past accidents, we may look at the past 60 months on record.) This and other important factors will help us calculate a premium that’s appropriate for how you drive. For instance, if you have a number of moving violations, accidents, or previous claims, we’ll happily insure you, but your coverage will require a higher premium than average. (Alternately, if you’ve stayed violation-, accident-, and claim-free over the past several years, you’ll likely qualify for one or more discounts.)

Unfortunately, moving violations have a noticeable effect on your insurance premiums. Which is why being safe on the road not only saves lives, it can help save you money, too.
