Little Bit of History

The state of Vermont encompasses 9,620 square miles and is ranked 45th in the nation's total area. It was the 14th state to enter the union on March 4, 1971. The Vermont territory was originally claimed by the French and was given the name Ver Mont meaning Green Mountain.
